Porsche AGM batteries
Many modern Porsche models require AGM technology for repeated engine restarts, intelligent charging and high electrical demand. Where AGM is fitted, do not downgrade to a standard flooded battery.
Porsche battery registration and intelligent charging
Many newer Porsche vehicles use battery monitoring and intelligent charging systems. After replacement, the new battery may need to be registered or adapted so the charging system can manage it correctly.
This is especially important if battery capacity or technology changes. Always check the original specification and the exact requirements for the model and year.
Porsche stop-start battery replacement
If your Porsche automatically switches the engine off when stationary and restarts it when you move away, it will normally require an EFB or AGM battery. Replace the fitted technology like-for-like unless Porsche approves a different specification.
Porsche Taycan 12V battery
The Porsche Taycan uses a high-voltage traction battery to power the vehicle, but it also has a separate 12V battery for control systems, locking, lighting and electronics. This finder identifies the 12V battery, not the high-voltage traction battery.

Does a Porsche battery need coding after replacement?

Can I replace a Porsche AGM battery with a standard battery?
Normally no. If AGM is specified, fit an AGM replacement. A conventional battery may not cope with the charging strategy, stop-start operation or electrical demands of the vehicle.
Is the battery shown for a Porsche Taycan the main EV battery?
No. The finder is for the separate 12V battery, not the high-voltage traction battery that powers the car.
