Renault vehicles combine high-performance engines with advanced electronics, intelligent charging and extensive comfort systems. The correct replacement battery must match the required technology, capacity, cold cranking performance, dimensions, terminal position and hold-down.
Our Renault battery finder uses vehicle application data to narrow down suitable Lucas batteries for popular models including the Clio, Captur, Megane, Kadjar, Scenic, Austral, Trafic and Master.

EFB batteries may be used in certain stop-start applications with moderate cycling demands. If EFB is specified, replace it with the same technology or a manufacturer-approved upgrade.
Many modern Renault models require AGM technology for repeated engine restarts, intelligent charging and high electrical demand. Where AGM is fitted, do not downgrade to a standard flooded battery.
Many Renault models use a hands-free key card rather than a conventional key. A warning about a weak key card battery normally refers to the small coin-cell battery inside the card, not the vehicle's 12V starter battery. If the vehicle is slow to crank, shows multiple electrical warnings or will not start, the 12V battery may still need testing separately.
Some Renault models use battery monitoring and intelligent charging systems. After replacement, certain settings may need reinitialising and some vehicles may require a battery-management reset or diagnostic check, depending on the model, year and battery technology.
If your Renault automatically switches the engine off when stationary and restarts it when you move away, it will normally require an EFB or AGM battery. Replace the fitted technology like-for-like unless Renault approves a different specification.

We offer competitively priced Lucas batteries for Renault vehicles without compromising on dependable starting power, correct battery technology or warranty cover. The best value comes from choosing the right Renault battery first time.
Use the Renault battery finder and select your model, year, engine and fuel type. Then compare the recommended dimensions, terminal layout and hold-down with the battery currently fitted.
No. The key card uses a small coin-cell battery, while the vehicle uses a separate 12V starter battery. A key card warning does not necessarily mean the main car battery is faulty.
Normally no. If AGM is specified, fit an AGM replacement. A conventional battery may not cope with the charging strategy, stop-start operation or electrical demands of the vehicle.
Stop-start may be disabled when battery charge or condition is too low. Temperature, electrical demand and other operating conditions can also temporarily prevent the system from working.
Our vehicle fitment results help narrow your search. Please compare the key details below with the battery currently fitted.
