Peugeot 5008 Battery Selection from MPV to Electric SUV
The Peugeot 5008 began as a practical MPV, changed into a seven-seat SUV and now includes Hybrid, Plug-In Hybrid and fully electric E-5008 powertrains. These generations share a name rather than one battery fitment.
Enter the year, engine, transmission and voltage system above. Seat count, body generation and trim help resolve vehicles registered near a model change.
First-Generation 5008 MPV Petrol and HDi
The original 5008 people carrier uses petrol engines alongside 1.6 and 2.0 HDi diesels, with manual, automated or automatic gearbox choices. Diesel preheating and a large cabin place separate demands on the low-voltage battery.
Select the exact drivetrain and inspect the original terminal layout before ordering. Slow starting can also result from an aged earth strap or starter cable on a high-mileage MPV.
Second-Generation PureTech and BlueHDi SUV
The second 5008 generation adopts SUV styling while retaining three seating rows. It was offered with 1.2 or 1.6 PureTech petrol and 1.5 or 2.0 BlueHDi diesel engines in various manual and EAT combinations.
Engine output and gearbox matter because several versions overlap by year. The larger body does not automatically require the biggest case that will enter the tray.
48V Hybrid 5008 Battery Requirements
Later second-generation and newer 5008 ranges include 48V Hybrid powertrains with an electrified dual-clutch gearbox. Their starting and low-voltage equipment work within a controlled energy-management system.
Retain AGM or EFB construction wherever specified and complete the applicable battery reset after installation. The 48V hybrid unit and conventional low-voltage battery must not be confused.
Latest 5008 Plug-In Hybrid
The newest 5008 Plug-In Hybrid combines a petrol engine, electric motor and rechargeable high-voltage traction battery while preserving seven-seat practicality. Its auxiliary system operates security, computers and ready-mode switching.
A wallbox session does not prove the low-voltage battery is healthy. Select Plug-In Hybrid explicitly and keep orange cables outside routine replacement work.
E-5008 Auxiliary Supply and Electric Drive Battery
The E-5008 is a seven-seat battery-electric SUV available with different drive-battery and motor configurations. It has no starter motor, but a separate auxiliary battery is essential for locks, displays, safety modules and high-voltage contactors.
The normal product listing is not the large propulsion pack and cannot restore electric range. Use the full VIN to confirm the low-voltage position on standard-range, long-range or dual-motor variants.
Three Seating Rows and Family Electrical Demand
Seven passengers can mean repeated door openings, rear climate use, device charging and lengthy loading with the tailgate raised. Folding and removing seats on older models also keeps luggage-area electronics active.
Use the running or ready state for sustained cabin demand and verify every door signal before parking. A courtesy lamp hidden behind luggage can discharge the battery overnight.
Towing, Holidays and Long Periods Parked
5008s often carry roof boxes, tow small trailers or stand at airports during family holidays. Trailer wiring, dash cameras and trackers may create a fault that appears only after a particular journey.
Test the vehicle without the trailer or added equipment connected, then measure settled current. Greater Ah will only delay failure if an accessory remains live.
Order the Exact Peugeot 5008 Battery
Confirm MPV, second-generation SUV or latest electrified model, then match engine, gearbox and powertrain to dimensions, terminal side, restraint, venting, Ah, CCA and chemistry. Follow high-voltage precautions on PHEV and E-5008 vehicles.
