Peugeot 3008 Battery Selection Across Three Generations
The Peugeot 3008 has evolved from a family crossover into a conventional SUV and then an electrified fastback. Petrol, HDi diesel, diesel Hybrid4, plug-in hybrid, 48V Hybrid and E-3008 versions all require precise identification.
Choose generation, engine, gearbox and drive system above. A first-generation Hybrid4 and latest all-electric model use the same 3008 badge for completely different technologies.
First-Generation Petrol and HDi 3008
Original 3008 models include 1.6-litre petrol engines and 1.6 or 2.0 HDi diesels with manual, automated or automatic transmissions. Diesel glow plugs and compression demand strong cold-cranking performance.
Use engine and transmission codes to separate overlapping applications. Inspect heavy-current connections if cranking remains slow, because cable resistance can imitate a worn battery.
Original 3008 HYbrid4 Diesel-Electric System
The first 3008 HYbrid4 pairs a 2.0 HDi diesel engine at the front with electric drive at the rear. It has a traction-energy system for hybrid operation as well as a low-voltage supply for computers, locking and startup control.
A standard car battery is not the hybrid propulsion pack and cannot repair an electric rear axle fault. Quote HYbrid4 and the full VIN, then keep routine work outside high-voltage enclosures.
Second-Generation PureTech and BlueHDi SUV
The second 3008 generation brought Peugeot i-Cockpit, PureTech petrol and BlueHDi diesel engines with manual or EAT automatic gearboxes. Start Stop and intelligent charging are widespread in this range.
Match the approved AGM or EFB technology as well as Ah and CCA. Deactivating automatic stopping does not alter the vehicle's charge-management strategy.
Second-Generation Plug-In Hybrid and Hybrid4
Later second-generation cars add front-wheel-drive Plug-In Hybrid and four-wheel-drive Hybrid4 derivatives with petrol engines, electric motors and rechargeable traction batteries. Their low-voltage battery still enables control and ready functions.
Mains charging the SUV does not replace an auxiliary health check. Distinguish the 225 and 300 powertrains or supply the VIN before choosing a replacement.
New 3008 Hybrid and Plug-In Hybrid
The newest 3008 offers a 48V Hybrid with an electrified dual-clutch gearbox and a newer Plug-In Hybrid architecture. Both differ from the preceding generation despite familiar Hybrid terminology.
Select the model year and power output carefully, preserve the specified low-voltage chemistry and follow the required battery-monitoring procedure. Never infer fitment from the word Hybrid alone.
E-3008 Standard Range, Long Range and Dual Motor
The E-3008 is built around a high-voltage electric platform and is offered in standard-range, long-range and dual-motor forms. A separate low-voltage battery powers body electronics and closes the contactors required for propulsion.
The auxiliary item shown here is not a 73 or 97 kWh drive battery. Provide the chassis number for an E-3008 and refer isolation or traction warnings to an EV-qualified technician.
Powered Tailgate, Panoramic Display and Parked Loads
3008 equipment can include a powered tailgate, keyless entry, surround cameras, connected services and a wide digital display. Loading luggage or requesting remote status repeatedly wakes several controllers.
If multiple assistance warnings occur together, record them and stabilise low voltage before replacing sensors. Check the tailgate latch and aftermarket accessories when charge falls during parking.
Confirm the Correct Peugeot 3008 Battery
Identify generation and exact voltage system, then match engine, transmission and drive type to footprint, height, polarity, clamp, venting, Ah, CCA and battery construction. Observe all hybrid and EV safety boundaries.
