Nissan Leaf 12V battery information

The Nissan Leaf has a high-voltage traction battery that powers the electric motor, but it also uses a separate 12V auxiliary battery for locks, control modules, lighting and vehicle systems. This page and finder are intended to help identify the 12V battery, not the high-voltage EV battery pack.

Does a Nissan replacement battery need resetting?

Reset or registration requirements depend on the model and year. Some Nissan vehicles may require the battery monitoring or charging system to be reset after replacement, particularly when the new battery differs in capacity or technology from the original.

If your Nissan automatically switches the engine off when stationary and restarts it when you move away, it will normally require an EFB or AGM battery.
