Toyota hybrid 12V batteries

Hybrid Toyotas use a high-voltage traction battery to power the hybrid system, but they also have a separate 12V auxiliary battery. This page and finder are intended to help identify the 12V battery, not the high-voltage hybrid battery pack.

The 12V battery powers control systems, locks, lighting and electronics, and it allows the vehicle's hybrid system to start. A weak 12V battery can cause warning lights, access issues or prevent the vehicle from entering its ready mode even when the hybrid battery itself is healthy.

Does a Toyota replacement battery need resetting?

Reset or registration requirements vary by Toyota model and year. Some vehicles may require settings such as windows, clocks or electronic systems to be reinitialised after battery disconnection, while others may use battery monitoring or charging controls that need checking after replacement.

Toyota stop-start battery replacement

If your Toyota automatically switches the engine off when stationary and restarts it when you move away, it will normally require an EFB or AGM battery. Replace the fitted battery like-for-like unless Toyota approves a different specification.
