Skoda Yeti Battery Selection from 2009 to 2018
The Skoda Yeti was Skoda's first modern SUV, built in one distinctive generation with front-wheel drive, 4x4, petrol and diesel choices. Pre-facelift, facelift and Outdoor specification all help identify the correct battery.
Choose the production year, engine, gearbox and drive type above. The Karoq replaced the Yeti, but its newer platform must not be used as a shortcut for the older SUV's fitment.
Yeti 1.2, 1.4 and 1.8 TSI Petrol Engines
Petrol Yeti models include the downsized 1.2 TSI, later 1.4 TSI and stronger 1.8 TSI, with manual or DSG combinations according to output. The 1.8 is commonly associated with four-wheel drive.
Quote engine capacity and transmission rather than choosing from body style. Closely related cases can differ in CCA, terminal layout or hold-down detail.
Yeti 1.6 and 2.0 TDI Diesel Models
The 1.6 TDI appears in economy-focused front-driven versions, while 2.0 TDI engines cover several outputs and both 4x2 and 4x4 layouts. Glow-plug heating makes healthy reserve important before a cold diesel crank.
Use the engine output and drivetrain in the catalogue. If turnover remains slow, test cable voltage drop and starter condition before selecting extra capacity.
Four-Wheel-Drive Yeti Applications
Yeti 4x4 models add a rear-drive coupling and associated traction electronics, and were offered with selected petrol and diesel engines. Off-road styling alone does not confirm that power reaches all four wheels.
Read the derivative or VIN rather than relying on an exterior badge that may have been removed. Stable startup voltage helps the ABS and coupling controllers initialise without spurious faults.
DSG and Start Stop Requirements
Certain Yeti engines use DSG, while GreenLine and other later derivatives include Start Stop and energy-management functions. These features make gearbox and battery technology important catalogue filters.
Fit the specified AGM or EFB type where required and perform any battery adaptation in the service procedure. Turning automatic stops off does not change the underlying charging calibration.
2013 Facelift and Yeti Outdoor
The 2013 update divided the range into road-focused Yeti and more rugged-looking Yeti Outdoor versions while revising lighting and equipment. Both remained within the same broad model generation.
Use build date and engine to separate pre- and post-update results. Outdoor bumpers cannot establish whether the vehicle is DSG, 4x4 or equipped with Start Stop.
VarioFlex Rear Seats and Tailgate Use
The Yeti's individually adjustable VarioFlex rear seats can slide, fold or be removed, encouraging extended loading with doors and tailgate open. Courtesy lamps and body modules continue drawing power during those changes.
Verify the hatch latch and every door switch after the cabin is rearranged. A luggage light hidden by equipment can consume reserve while the SUV is parked.
Age, Towing Accessories and Seasonal Storage
Surviving Yetis often carry towbar electrics, auxiliary lighting, trackers or camper-style accessories added across several owners. Some are also left idle between winter trips or outdoor holidays.
Inspect modifications individually and use a suitable maintainer during long storage. A larger starting battery should not mask a failed trailer module or unfused accessory circuit.
Order the Exact Skoda Yeti Battery
Match model year, TSI or TDI engine, manual or DSG gearbox, 4x2 or 4x4 and Start Stop status to footprint, height, terminals, clamp, venting, Ah, CCA and approved battery construction.
See all Skoda batteries, or compare the successor Skoda Karoq battery page. Provide the registration or VIN for 4x4, DSG, GreenLine or Outdoor Yeti models.
