SEAT EFB batteries
EFB batteries are commonly fitted to SEAT stop-start vehicles with moderate cycling demands. If EFB is specified, replace it with the same technology or a manufacturer-approved upgrade.
SEAT AGM batteries
Higher-specification SEAT models may require AGM technology for repeated engine restarts, energy recovery and heavier electrical demand. Where AGM is fitted, do not downgrade to a standard battery.
SEAT battery registration and intelligent charging
Many newer SEAT vehicles use intelligent battery monitoring as part of the Volkswagen Group electrical system. After replacement, some models may need the new battery to be registered or adapted so the charging system can manage it correctly.

Can I replace a SEAT AGM battery with a standard battery?
Normally no. If AGM is specified, fit an AGM replacement. A conventional battery may not cope with the stop-start system, charging strategy or electrical demands of the vehicle.
Why has stop-start stopped working on my SEAT?
Stop-start may be disabled when battery charge or condition is too low. Temperature, electrical demand and other operating conditions can also temporarily prevent the system from working.
