Peugeot Partner Battery Selection Across Three Van Generations
The Peugeot Partner has developed through compact early vans, the larger B9 generation and the current K9 commercial range. Diesel engine, body length, seating layout, Start Stop equipment and electric drive all affect battery choice.
Choose the full registration, engine and body description above. Partner Tepee passenger versions, Panel Vans, Crew Vans and converted vehicles should be checked against their own chassis data.
Early Partner Petrol and Diesel Vans
First-generation Partners include petrol engines and naturally aspirated or HDi diesels used for local trade and delivery work. Age can add corrosion at clamps, chassis earths and starter connections even when the battery tests well off the van.
Measure voltage drop during a loaded crank and inspect the tray restraint. Commercial vibration can damage a loose case or disguise a poor connection as low capacity.
B9 Partner 1.6 HDi and BlueHDi
The B9 Partner is widely found with 1.6 HDi and BlueHDi engines across different power outputs, gearboxes and payload ratings. Glow plugs, repeated diesel starts and emissions controls require reliable reserve.
Use the exact engine output and year rather than selecting any 1.6 diesel listing. A Tepee with extensive passenger equipment can also differ from a basic working van.
Current K9 Partner 1.5 BlueHDi
Current combustion Partners use the 1.5 BlueHDi diesel with manual or automatic transmission according to derivative. Digital instruments, assistance systems and telematics make stable supply important throughout the working day.
M and XL body length or Crew Van configuration are valuable fitment checks. Record the full derivative before comparing Ah, CCA and battery technology.
Start Stop on Delivery and Trade Vehicles
Applicable Partner diesels use Start Stop and smart charging, creating repeated engine cycles during congested rounds. They need the specified AGM or EFB design rather than a basic starter battery.
Automatic stopping may be unavailable when state of charge is low, but switching the function off does not change the charging system. Complete battery registration where required after fitting.
E-Partner Auxiliary Battery versus 50 kWh Drive Pack
The E-Partner carries a high-voltage traction battery beneath the load floor and uses an electric motor for propulsion. A separate low-voltage battery supports doors, lights, computers and the contactors that make the van ready.
The product finder covers the named auxiliary supply, not the 50 kWh propulsion battery. A charged drive pack cannot prevent a no-wake condition caused by weak low voltage.
Panel Van, Crew Van and Moduwork Loads
Partner body choices include M or XL length, multi-seat Crew Van and Moduwork load-through arrangements. Sliding doors and rear doors can remain open while tools or parcels are sorted, leaving cargo lighting and modules active.
Check every latch and isolate load-space lighting faults if discharge follows a shift. Passenger charging sockets and rear equipment should be included in the energy assessment.
Trackers, Inverters and Commercial Accessories
Fleet tracking, dash cameras, beacons, refrigeration controls and inverters are common additions. A permanent feed fitted by a converter may bypass the normal shutdown strategy and flatten the starting battery overnight.
Map non-factory wiring and use a purpose-designed auxiliary system for sustained loads. Increasing battery size is not a substitute for correct isolation and fuse protection.
Confirm the Correct Peugeot Partner Battery
Identify generation, engine, body length and electric or diesel powertrain, then match dimensions, polarity, clamp, vent, Ah, CCA and construction. Include conversion equipment when requesting a manual fitment check.
