Kia vehicles include compact city cars, family hatchbacks, SUVs and electrified models, so battery requirements differ across the range. The correct replacement must match the required battery technology, capacity, cold cranking performance, dimensions, terminal position and hold-down.
Our Kia battery finder uses vehicle application data to narrow down suitable Lucas batteries for popular models including the Picanto, Rio, Ceed, Sportage, Niro, Sorento, Stonic and Soul.
Some conventional petrol and diesel Kia models use a standard 12V starter battery. Compare its dimensions, terminal layout, hold-down and starting performance with the battery currently fitted.
EFB batteries are commonly fitted to vehicles with stop-start systems and moderate cycling demands. Where EFB is specified, replace it with the same technology or a manufacturer-approved upgrade.
Higher-specification stop-start and electrified Kia models may require AGM technology for repeated cycling and greater electrical demand. If AGM is fitted, do not downgrade to a conventional battery.
Kia hybrid, plug-in hybrid and electric vehicles still use a separate 12V battery for control systems, locking, lighting and vehicle electronics. This finder is intended to identify the 12V battery, not the high-voltage traction battery that powers the electric drive system.
A weak 12V battery can cause warning messages, access problems or prevent the vehicle from becoming ready, even when the main traction battery has charge.
Kia is well known for its long vehicle warranty, but replacement batteries and their warranty terms can be treated separately from the vehicle itself. Fit the correct specification, keep your purchase record and follow the vehicle manufacturer's replacement requirements.
If your Kia automatically switches the engine off when stationary and restarts it when you move away, it will normally require an EFB or AGM battery. Replace the existing technology like-for-like unless Kia approves a different specification.
We offer competitively priced Lucas batteries for Kia vehicles without compromising on dependable starting power, correct battery technology or warranty cover. The best value comes from choosing the right Kia battery first time.
Use the Kia battery finder and select your model, year, engine and fuel type. Then compare the recommended dimensions, terminal layout and hold-down with the battery currently fitted.
No. The finder is for the vehicle's 12V battery, not the high-voltage traction battery used to power the hybrid or electric drive system.
Normally no. If AGM is specified, fit an AGM replacement. A conventional battery may not cope with the charging strategy, stop-start operation or electrical demands of the vehicle.
Stop-start may be disabled when battery charge or condition is too low. Temperature, electrical demand and other operating conditions can also temporarily prevent the system from working.
Our vehicle fitment results help narrow your search. Please compare the key details below with the battery currently fitted.
