Many Citroën vehicles use a Body Systems Interface, commonly called the BSI, to manage electrical functions. Battery disconnection and reconnection should be carried out carefully because the BSI can be sensitive to voltage interruption and incorrect procedures.
After replacement, settings such as windows, clocks, central locking or other electronic functions may need to be reinitialised. Persistent warning lights or electrical issues may require diagnostic equipment.

Does a Citroën battery replacement need a BSI reset?
Not every model needs a formal reset, but the BSI can be sensitive to battery disconnection. Follow the correct procedure and check whether any systems need reinitialising afterwards.
Can I replace a Citroën AGM battery with a standard battery?
Normally no. If AGM is specified, fit an AGM replacement. A conventional battery may not cope with the stop-start system, charging strategy or electrical demands of the vehicle.
Why has stop-start stopped working on my Citroën?
Stop-start may be disabled when battery charge or condition is too low. Temperature, electrical demand and other operating conditions can also temporarily prevent the system from working.
